In the year 2000, Denver was the unlikely setting for an ambitious theater event: a reworking of the ancient story of the Trojan War in a fresh new light designed to illuminate the modern world. Three thousand years after the war became legend, director and playwright John Barton set out on his own odyssey to resurrect these ancient stories. This performance documentary interweaves highlights of the landmark production with intimate behind-the-scenes footage-from the challenges and triumphs shared by the cast and crew to the creative tensions between Barton and Peter Hall, whose 30-year collaboration was pushed to the breaking point.
