Viewpoint: Charity Adams Earley

Earley, the first black commissioned officer in the Women's Army Corps, recalls her experiences as commander of the only group of African-American women serving overseas in World War II. Earley designed and operated the 6888 Central Postal Directory Battalion, whose job was to make sure all American military personnel received their mail while stationed in Europe.
