Tibet has one of the highest rates of preventable blindness in the world. Since 1996, San Francisco ophthalmologist Dr. Marc Lieberman has been making two trips to the region every year to train Tibetan doctors in modern eye care and surgery. His ambitious goal is to eradicate preventable blindness in Tibet by 2020.
