Winds of Change

With the air quality over many Native American lands growing steadily worse, new federal laws have granted tribes the sovereign right to protect the quality of their air-leading to complex negotiations with off-reservation sources of pollution. Filmed on seven reservations from the Mohegan in southeastern Connecticut to the Gila River in Arizona, this program explores tribal efforts to create heightened understanding of air quality issues.
