Archival footage shows the maestro in rehearsal and performance, conducting pieces by composers ranging from Brahms to Bartók and Bizet. And in an excerpt from Christopher Nupen's film The Trout, a young Mehta plays double bass with his friends Daniel Barenboim, Pinchas Zukerman, Itzhak Perlman, and Jacqueline du Pre.
