Josh Hopkins
'Street Skills Host'

During Josh Hopkins' career as an actor, he has endured Navy SEAL training alongside Demi Moore, had a Picnic on Broadway, and played a "killer" role on Law & Order. This fall, the Kentucky native will go undercover for Fox Television. But before hitting the streets as Alec Stone in New York Undercover, Hopkins will hit the open road in a new series on KET.

Hopkins is your host for Street Skills, the four-part driving series geared to teenagers. The series goes beyond the basic "how-to's" of driving to give its audience a deeper understanding of the physics, mechanics, and psychology of driving.

After studying acting and voice at Auburn University, Hopkins joined Actors Theater of Louisville. His stage work in the River City and later in New York City led to a job as an understudy in the Broadway production of Picnic. Hopkins also recieved good reviews for his portrayal of a soldier in the off-Broadway production of David Ives' Red Address.

He then made a successful transition from stage to screen with two independent features, Paulie and Parallel Sons. In his most recent movie role, Hopkins plays Flea, a candidate for the elite Navy SEALs, in Columbia Pictures' G.I. Jane.

Josh Although far less grueling than the military training required for G.I. Jane, Hopkins' job as host of Street Skills was definitely a challenge. The 26-year-old had to be entertaining while still sending a clear message: "Driving can be fun. Driving can be freedom. Driving can be fatal." His enthusiasm for the project is clearly evident as he presents this fuel-injected, high-octane, turbo-charged driving series.

"I have two nieces about driving age," says Hopkins, "and I worry about them. I hope this series can teach teenagers to be more responsible drivers."
