Complete with antique roadsters, feathers and fedoras, swing dancers and barrels of fun, Don and Mira Ball's Donamire Farm was transformed into the underground, speakeasy world of the Roaring '20s.
Some 330 auction grabs, a bee's knees buffet and razz-ma-jazz by the Jimmy Church Band highlighted the merrymaking. But what made Summer Celebration truly special was your participation and support.
Honorary Chairs Ann and Terry McBrayer join me and 32 committee volunteers in thanking you for making this year's event the most successful yet. A record 1,054 revelers contributed an all-time high $230,000 to advance KET's impact.
In total, all Summer Celebrations have raised $3.169 million to benefit Kentucky's families, classrooms and communities.
Serving 5 million home viewers and every school in Kentucky each day, KET is the nation's largest public television network. Your support of Summer Celebration and throughout the year enables KET to better serve the people of the Commonwealth. Thank you for your trust, and for helping KET advance education, citizenship, culture and opportunity for all of Kentucky's citizens.
Save the date for Summer Celebration 2012: June 15
