Celebrating 40 Years of Trust

In 1968, the dream of a statewide educational television network that would shine a bright light into all corners of Kentucky and beyond was born. KET would teach, nourish, empower, even inspire. It would explore possibilities; connect people, places, and traditions; encourage independent thought; and strengthen families and communities.

Today that dream has matured into the largest public television network in the country, providing access and opportunity to every school in Kentucky and to more than 5 million home viewers in eight states. Tomorrow, when the power of media will affect how we communicate, work, learn, and play, KET’s call to serve will be even greater. Thank you for believing in and supporting KET’s mission and impact.

To help commemorate KET’s 40th anniversary and to offer perspective on the upcoming presidential election, we welcome broadcast journalist Judy Woodruff, who has covered politics and other news for more than three decades.

Most recently, Woodruff returned to PBS as a senior correspondent and 2008 political editor for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. From 1983 to 1990, she was the chief Washington correspondent for the NewsHour and anchored PBS’ award-winning weekly documentary series Frontline with Judy Woodruff. For 12 years, Woodruff served as anchor and senior correspondent for CNN, hosting the weekday political program Inside Politics. Earlier at NBC News and the Today Show, she was White House and chief Washington correspondent. She is also the author of This Is Judy Woodruff at the White House.
