6. Where did people come from who came to Kentucky in the 19th century?
Most of the people here came from Virginia. If you look at census records over time, most of the people here were born in Virginia or their parents were born in Virginia. Very many of the settlers that lived around here were either people who fought in the revolutionary war and moved here after the war was over or are the children of people who fought in the Revolutionary War and moved here after that time.

They were mostly English. There was some Irish or Scotch Irish, different groups of people that had come over to mostly Virginia. Some people came to North Carolina. A few people from places like Pennsylvania and had come over to the part of the country. But the vast majority were English or Irish or Scotch Irish.
