For information on ordering videotapes of this and other KET Electronic Field Trips, call (800) 945-9167 or E-mail , 600 Cooper Drive, Lexington, KY 40502-2296, fax (859) 258-7399.

In this one-hour KET-produced field trip, the animals and staff of the Louisville Zoo host a very special tour for teachers and students. You’ll see how elephants, seals, tapirs, and tigers are trained to make the care of the animals easier for the zoo staff and the animals; learn about the successful captive-breeding program for the black-footed ferret; see a Cuban crocodile and find out how to prepare for field work in Cuban swamps; watch a zoo veterinarian work with exotic animals and hear about his work; and learn about an innovative rotation system which allows animals to move between different habitats.
