Episode description: Throughout most of 1929, the stock market was rising steadily, and few critics could be found. It was a "new era" when anyone could get rich. But in truth, only a small group of bankers, brokers, and speculators grew fabulously wealthy by manipulating the stock market. The unbounded optimism of the age gave way to shock and despair when reality finally hit on October 29th.
