Details
Episode description: In fewer than 25 years, Eugene O'Neill wrote 20 plays and won four Pulitzer Prizes. The triumphant author of such innovative works as The Iceman Cometh, A Touch of the Poet, and the autobiographical masterpiece Long Day's Journey Into Night once described writing as his "vacation from living." Award-winning director Ric Burns tells the playwright's own turbulent story, from his childhood through the ascendant years of his career to his lonely, painful death at age 65 in 1953. Christopher Plummer narrates. [cc]
