Episode description: The story of Captain Bruce Yamashita's battle against racism and discrimination in the United States Marine Corps. The third-generation Japanese American, Georgetown law school graduate, and Hawaii Constitutional Convention delegate waged a lonely, five-year battle, overcoming bureaucratic, financial, and personal setbacks to uncover evidence of widespread discrimination against minorities at Officer Candidate School. His findings became integral to a 60 Minutes investigation and prompted outrage from both Congress and the White House. [cc]
