Episode description: For nearly a century, the legendary Cepeda family has been in the forefront of efforts to preserve the traditions of bomba, Puerto Rico's classic African-rooted music and dance. Extensive interviews with 86-year-old patriarch Don Rafael Cepeda and other family members, archival photographs and videotape footage, and demonstrations by dancers and drummers trace the evolution of bomba both on its home island and in the new family home in New York.
