Details
Episode description: West Side Story brings untraditional subject matter to the musical stage and attracts a new breed of director/choreographers who insist on performers who can dance, sing, and act. Rock 'n' roll, the civil rights movement, and Vietnam usher in new talents who begin taking musical theater in daring new directions with innovative productions like Hair, the first Broadway musical with an entire score of rock music.
