Iranian-born Shirin Neshat creates works in film, video, photography, and performance that explore the injustices against women in her homeland. Graphic novelist Joe Sacco ventures to war-torn Bosnia and Palestine to document the struggles of the civilians who live there. And The Onion, a weekly comic newspaper, parodies the real news and exercises the constitutional right to freedom of expression. [cc]
