Episode description: Explores the confluence of religion and politics, from the Pledge of Allegiance to monuments to the Ten Commandments and from abortion to civil unions to the administration's faith-based initiatives. Gumbel and Ifill travel to Independence Hall in Philadelphia to examine how the founders who met there foresaw the role of religion in public life and how they understood the concept of separation of church and state.
