Episode description: Spotlights services that tackle mental-health issues as part of overall health or work to destigmatize mental illness. The Larue County Coordinated School Health Initiative includes mental health topics in its education and fitness efforts. The Healthy Kids Centers, which provide health services to students in four high-poverty Fayette County schools, have established a Student Assistance Team in each school to evaluate students with learning, behavioral, or ADHD problems. The Appalachian Violence Outreach Network helps domestic violence and trauma victims in Breathitt, Lee, Owsley, and Wolfe counties overcome depression, eating disorders, and low self-esteem. And Jefferson County's Crisis Intervention Team trains police officers to recognize mental illness and work effectively with mentally ill citizens. Watch Online
