Episode description: A KET documentary that takes students backstage at the Kentucky Opera in Louisville as the company prepares a production of the contemporary American opera Susannah. Composer Carlisle Floyd gives some background on the work, and singers, musicians, the conductor, and technicians talk about the rehearsal and staging processes. The program also introduces some basics of opera and careers in the field. A 1999 KET production.
