A Kentucky-born artist, Mike's vision for the Web site was to give it a bit of a historical flair with an updated look. He tried to incorporate the elements from the time period and add suggestions of the African roots of the people who were enslaved. His creative goal was to emphasize freedom throughout the site. At the same time he worked to make the site informative and easy to navigate.
