KET depends on three major groups of volunteers to help keep programs and services coming your way:
The members of the KET Friends Board make up our leadership group of volunteers. These dedicated and enthusiastic supporters, many of whom have given their time and energy for years, are KET’s goodwill ambassadors throughout Kentucky. They promote programs and services in their own communities, plan and host special events, and meet several times a year to share ideas for new initiatives. The board includes representatives from each of 35 districts that together cover all 120 Kentucky counties.
KET Advocates work closely with the Friends Board members to implement promotion and outreach plans. They also recruit and schedule local volunteers to help with everything from staffing KET information booths at fairs and festivals to hosting premiere parties for new productions.
KET Network Center Volunteers perform an invaluable service by helping with projects at KET’s headquarters in Lexington. Collectively, they donate hundreds of hours of labor each year, doing everything from answering phones to processing mailings to participating in live-audience programs—helping us keep costs down and level of service up.
