Position Details/Eligibility
This unpaid internship is available year-round. One intern is needed each semester. Junior-, senior-, and graduate-level students attending any college or university in Kentucky and the southern Indiana region; and Kentucky residents attending a college or university out of state may apply.
10 hours per week (approximately 150 hours per semester) are required, although special arrangements may be made when school requirements differ.
Duties
KET’s health content production and community outreach team is seeking a production intern. Duties may include some or all of the following:
Researching and writing summaries and content scripts
Posting video segments, written descriptions of content on various Web platforms
Logging raw footage using media log software
Digitizing footage onto a computer-based video editing system
Entering story data into a database
Researching stories and making phone calls
Going out with video crews to assist with remote production (if schedule permits—days could be long)
(Training will be provided for the technical duties listed above)
Special Skills Required
Interest in telecommunications, broadcast, and community health related fields. Must be comfortable using a computer and be familiar with (or be willing to learn) how to use database software and video media logging software. The flexibility of working some evenings is helpful, since computer equipment is more available at that time.
