Happy Pi Day

 “Pi Day” is celebrated every year on the fourteenth of March (3/14), but we’re not necessarily celebrating delicious pies.  Pi Day is actually an opportunity to delve deeper into the wonders of mathematics. Math can be an intimidating subject for adults returning to education, but Pi Day offers a chance to embrace the subject with enthusiasm and curiosity. 

Celebrating Women’s History Month

As we enter March, KET Adult Education celebrates Women's History Month, a time to honor the invaluable contributions of women throughout history. This month offers a perfect opportunity for educators to address narratives of women that highlight diversity, equity, and inclusion. One such person is Kentucky’s own bell hooks, a scholar, author and activist known for her writings on the intersections of race, feminism, and class.

The concept of a fixed versus a growth mindset, as explained by psychologist Carol Dweck, refers to the belief that one's abilities, intelligence, and talents are not unchangeable or permanent, but can be developed and improved through dedication, hard work, learning and perseverance.
