Learning with PBS KIDS: Exploring Arts & Creativity with Pinkalicious

This teacher professional development event will explore arts and creativity themes and feature a discussion about how to integrate creative activities into curriculum. Attendees will also catch a first look at our new PBS KIDS show Pinkalicious and Peterrific, premiering on February 19. Based on the best-selling HarperCollins Pinkalicious book series by Victoria Kann, this new series is designed to help children explore the arts and creativity. Following the adventures of Pinkalicious, an artist at heart who imagines possibilities everywhere she looks and sees the world differently from others, this program aims to encourage children across America to follow their passions and express themselves creatively while building important skills and having fun. This session will explore ways to emphasize arts and creativity themes in the classroom, and will explore the free resources available for teacher use on PBS LearningMedia, including video clips and lesson plans.

Speakers include:

SPECIAL GUEST! Victoria Kann, Author of the best-selling HarperCollins Pinkalicious book series
Ginger Huebner, Founding Director of Roots + Wings School of Art and Design
Dorothea Gillim, Executive Producer of Pinaklicious and Peterrific for PBS KIDS
