In this video produced by Dave Shuffett, host of Kentucky Life, and the KYANA Geological Society, students learn about earth science concepts especially as they relate to Kentucky’s own rich geological history. They also discover some of the fun, educational benefits of joining a rock club. Led by a student host, viewers tag along on a rock hunt where they learn from members of the geological society (including Dave, who is a member) about the rock cycle, fossils, rocks and minerals and their uses and other related topics. Students see spectacular examples of mineral and fossil specimens including our state’s own unique and beautiful Kentucky agate.
