Scale City

Welcome to Scale City, the biggest, smallest road trip ever! Created for grades 6-8, but fun for everyone! Explore amazing roadside attractions and learn about the mathematics of scale. At each stop, a short video field trip and a fun interactive simulation help you understand proportional reasoning.

If you’d like to explore Scale City’s locations by beginning with simpler math concepts and moving on to more complex ones, the suggested order is Dinosaur World, Louisville Slugger Museum, Mural Painting, Miniature Land, World Chicken Festival, Sky-Vue Drive-In, Belle of Louisville, and Kentucky Horse Park. Each video and interactive also can be enjoyed individually. It’s up to you!

Visit the Scale City Teacher’s Diner for resources¬† designed to help you use Scale City in your classroom.¬† All the lesson plans are aligned with Kentucky state education standards, which are based on national standards.
