KET is pleased to announce its partnership in the new GEDWorks™ program, launched recently by GED Testing Service®. The program brings together some of the nation’s largest employers and recognizable brands – including KFC, Taco Bell, Southeastern Grocers, and Walmart – to provide no-cost comprehensive GED® test-preparation services to employees who wish to earn their GED credential.
KET’s Fast Forward, an online instructional system for GED test preparation, was chosen as a curriculum partner.
“KET is proud to partner with GED Testing Service to make Fast Forward, our online learning system, available to more adult learners nationwide. Fast Forward provides a self-paced curriculum available to students on computers and mobile devices, meeting students where they are and addressing their individualized needs,” said Tonya Crum, KET’s director of adult education and workforce training.
“Having a strong curriculum provider like KET is vital to driving student success in the GEDWorks program,” said Randy Trask, GED Testing Service President. “Our students like the ease of use of KET’s Fast Forward system, and it provides our GED Advisors with the tools they need to effectively serve each student.”
“Fast Forward is an efficient and effective solution,” said Sarah Wilkins, Ed.D., KET adult education specialist. “KET is a key partner in workforce development because highly-skilled workers are the engine of the modern economy and the best way to make a difference in someone’s career skills is to help them improve their education.”
KET’s participation in the GEDWorks initiative extends the presence of its popular Fast Forward, which offers an innovative, multi-platform learning system to help students prepare for the GED test in language arts, math, science and social studies. The system is used in all 50 states by over 13,000 students and teachers and is the statewide curriculum solution for Kentucky Adult Education programs. KET also has a longtime partnership with Signature HealthCare, which operates in 10 states.
KET is Kentucky’s largest classroom, serving more than one million people each week via television, online and mobile. Learn more about Kentucky’s preeminent public media organization on Twitter @KET and facebook.com/KET and at KET.org.
