KET’s TeleFund 2019 features Ken Burns specials, Queen documentary, concerts and more

KET’s TeleFund 2019 offers something for everyone – from health specials and star-studded concerts to behind-the-scenes insight into Ken Burns’ creative mind. During TeleFund, which runs March 2-17, viewers can support KET by calling in their pledge to (800) 866-0366 or donating online at KET.org/donate.

Highlights of TeleFund 2019 include:

Nat King Cole’s Greatest Songs (My Music) In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Nat King Cole’s birth in 1919, this special is the first to present full performances of his greatest hits and most cherished songs, including  “Mona Lisa,” “Unforgettable,” and “When I Fall In Love.” Rarely seen footage from his groundbreaking 1950s variety show and long-lost promotional films offer a nostalgic portrait of an impeccable and timeless artist.

Keto Diet with Dr. Josh Axe Dr. Josh Axe shares health and nutrition advice based on his new book The Keto Diet. The program showcases delicious food and recipe options and outlines what Axe feels are the benefits of the keto diet beyond fasting and weight loss, including reduced risk for type 2 diabetes, reduced risk of heart disease, resistance to brain and neurological disorders, and more.

Queen Rock the WorldOn the 40th anniversary of Queen’s News of the World album and U.S. tour, this lost documentary, pieced together for the first time, provides a fascinating insight into a band that defied the odds and took the USA by storm.

Ken Burns: The National Parks This new PBS special celebrates one of Ken Burns’ most beautiful and beloved series, The National Parks: America’s Best Idea. Filmed over the course of more than six years at some of nature’s most spectacular locales – from Acadia to Yosemite, and from the Everglades of Florida to the Gates of the Arctic in Alaska  – the series is filled with beautiful vistas and gripping historical characters.

Great Performances: Andrea Bocelli @ 60 A celebration of Andrea Bocelli’s sixtieth birthday in Italy features songs from Bocelli’s new CD, Si, performed in the picturesque Italian coastal town of Porto Venere. Special guests include Josh Groban and Andrea’s son Matteo, who joins his father for a performance of the duet “Fall on Me.”

Josh Groban Bridges: In Concert from Madison Square Garden Filmed at New York’s Madison Square Garden in November 2018, this new concert features international superstar Josh Groban performing songs from his recent album Bridges, as well as a selection of classic songs and fan favorites from the last 20 years. Tony Award-winner Idina Menzel and Grammy Award-winner Jennifer Nettles join him on stage.

A Conversation with Ken Burns In this intimate interview, award-winning, critically acclaimed documentary filmmaker Ken Burns discusses his work as a historian, storyteller and curator of uniquely American subjects. Burns looks back on his early childhood experiences and influences that led him to pursue a career as a filmmaker and shares candid, behind-the-scenes memories about working on his films.
