Chris Tyson Renshaw, a digital learning coach with the Christian County Technology Department in Hopkinsville, has been named a member of the 2022 class of educators selected for the PBS Digital Innovator All-Star Program – honoring classroom changemakers who offer fresh ideas and bold approaches to supporting their students’ growth and learning. Nominated by their local PBS stations, 20 educators were chosen from across the country.

Renshaw holds advanced degrees earned with honors from Murray State University and Western Kentucky University. She has taught for the past 21 years in various areas such as Technology Education, Special Education, Credit Recovery as well as served as Library Media Specialist. She is an active volunteer with Christian County 4-H and Master Gardeners. Chris has traveled extensively in the United States and abroad, and she also takes several hundred students on a camping outing each year.

The PBS Digital Innovator All-Star program brings together a community of PreK-12th grade educators who are innovators and leaders both in and outside of the classroom. Specifically, Digital Innovator All-Stars are selected from a cohort of educators who are doing extraordinary work supporting student learning by integrating media and digital technology in their teaching environments and inspiring students to use these tools in responsible, effective and empowering ways.

“Chris is a rockstar within the digital learning and Christian County communities,” said Brian Spellman, KET’s Director of K-12 School Services. “Her dedication and continual pursuit of learning opportunities is an invaluable benefit to all who know her. She is an incredible resource and spokesperson sharing KET’s mission of supporting students and schools.”

In partnership with KET, Renshaw will spend the 2022-2023 school year deepening engagement among students, families, educators, schools and KET.
