KET’s Summer Celebration fundraising event sets sail June 11 at Donamire Farm

For Release: 05/11/22 9:25 AM

KET invites guests to chart a course for a high-seas adventure at the 34th annual Summer Celebration on Saturday, June 11, at Donamire Farm in Lexington.

Captained by honorary chairs Nick and Tyra Rowe of Kentucky American Water and guided by harbormaster and host Mira Ball, this year’s event offers a chance to Sail the Sea with KET and support KET’s flagship fundraising event.

“For more than 30 years, our generous sponsors, committee volunteers, and friends have made it possible to support KET’s programs and services while enjoying a night of fellowship and fun,” said Shae Hopkins, KET’s executive director and CEO.  “Proceeds help lift all boats through KET.”

Tickets are $200 per person or $1,800 for a reserved table for eight. The event, which begins at 7 p.m., features summer festive or costumed attire (anything from Jack Sparrow to Jackie O, Captain Stubing to Ginger Grant) and includes dinner, entertainment and an open bar. Information and reservations are available at (800) 866-0366 or online at KET.org/summercelebration. Tickets will also be available at the door.

The evening includes live music by The Jimmy Church Band and a large silent auction featuring UK basketball lower-arena season tickets, vacations, jewelry (courtesy of Farmer’s Jewelry), furnishings, fine art and more loot.

Everyone, everywhere can dive for these auction treasures when bidding opens to the public on Monday, June 6. To place bids or learn more about ticket availability, please visit  KET.org/summercelebration.
