Conversations with family and friends, a re-creation of one of his underwater explorations, and scenes from some of his favorite wild places illuminate the life and work of Florida biologist and environmentalist Archie Carr. Locations include the giant springs of the Suwannee River, Everglades National Park, the open savannas of Paynes Prairie State Park, the Mangrove Islands, and Atlantic beaches that are now part of the Archie Carr Wildlife Refuge-home to nesting sea turtles and endangered wood storks.
