Follows the family-owned Tarzan Zerbini Circus through its 1996 season to show the real life of unrelenting travel and back-breaking work behind the scenes of this ancient form of entertainment. The documentary also presents an intimate look at several families of circus performers, a world-famous tiger trainer from Switzerland, and the many workers who are struggling to maintain the endangered institution of small traveling circuses.
