After years in California, filmmaker Eric Tydingoo returns to his native Guam in search of his roots and discovers that much has changed in his absence. His favorite swim spot now boasts foreign-owned high-rises. But the language of his ancestors, which he never learned, has re-emerged as the islanders try to preserve their cultural identity.
