The Davenport Hotel in Spokane, WA was the most modern hostelry in the United States when it opened in 1914. But a succession of owners couldn't keep it profitable through changing times, and the Davenport closed in 1985. Now local entrepreneurs Walt and Karen Worthy are giving the near-derelict hotel a $30 million, top-to-bottom renovation.
