An overview of both the historical and human aspects of Russian art examines how it has shocked and changed the Western world as well as how it reflects the soul of the people who made it. The programs examine literature, paintings, architecture, music, and film, from a sacred icon borrowed from Byzantium 1,000 years ago to the provocative filmmakers of the 20th century.
