The film tells the story of a bold operation that changed the course of World War II. In 1942, responding to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. Navy converted two passenger steamships into aircraft carriers to train more than 15,000 pilots and 40,000 deck crews in the safety of Lake Michigan.
