The Governor's Literacy Summit

Addressing a gathering of 200 Kentuckians who work around issues of literacy at all age levels, Gov. Paul Patton charges them to establish a clear focus and a plan to increase literacy in the Commonwealth. Dr. Robert Sexton of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence provides a critical analysis of current literacy efforts across state agencies. The conference, sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Education, the P-16 Council, the Kentucky Literacy Partnership, and the Prichard Committee, took place in June 2001. A KET production.
