A series of workshops, organized around the content standards of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, designed to help K-8 teachers better understand fundamental concepts of statistics and probability. The programs introduce statistics as a problem-solving process; build skills in collecting, representing, describing, and analyzing data; and illustrate statistical concepts such as data representation, variation, mean and median, bivariate data, probability, designing statistical experiments, and population estimations. Concluding case studies provide ideas for applying the concepts covered in the classroom.
