A behind-the-scenes look at media coverage of the trials of Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols for the Oklahoma City terrorist bombing explores how reporters and photographers struggled to get the story while coping with their own emotions as well as intense competition. Faced with widespread criticism of how the O.J. Simpson trials were covered, more than 70 media organizations formed a unique broadcast/print consortium to try to reestablish journalistic dignity. This documentary examines the results of that coordinated coverage, looks at how bombing victims felt they were treated by the media, and explores the differences between mainstream and tabloid philosophies.
