The program presents a journey by land and by air over some of the breathtaking landscapes and habitats that define Alaska. Mesmerizing images are interwoven with fascinating information about America's 49th state. The production team obtained special permission to shoot rarely and never-before-photographed Alaskan locations, and the program features many areas that are not accessible to travelers. The team also engaged the services of skilled wildlife cinematographer Joe Pontecorvo to capture striking close-ups of bears, moose, eagles, whales and other Alaskan wildlife.
