Powder River Country

The Powder River Basin is a landscape of rolling hills, big skies, and subtle beauty that is also rich in human history. Native Americans lived here for centuries, and it was here they defeated Custer at the Little Bighorn. The high plains also have been ranched and farmed for nearly 200 years. But the rush for a new source of natural gas is transforming the remote region, making the future uncertain for agriculture.
