Actress and storyteller Anita Singleton-Prather, starring as Aunt Pearlie-Sue, performs songs and stories from the Gullah culture of the sea islands off the coast of South Carolina. The islands' inhabitants, descendants of former slaves, are determined to preserve the Gullah language of the first African slaves brought to America.
