Yalta: Peace, Power, and Betrayal

On February 4, 1945, three of the most powerful leaders in the world-British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin-met at the seaside Crimean resort town of Yalta to craft a settlement that would forever alter the European landscape. But while preparing for the close of one war, they unwittingly laid the groundwork for conflicts to come. Archival footage, firsthand accounts from interpreters at the conference, journal excerpts, and interviews with scholars open a window into this historic meeting and into the dynamic and volatile personalities of the three men, exposing each leader's motivations, fears, and suspicions.
