In a vibrant, music-filled program, conductor Zubin Mehta tells his life story and looks back over his career in what he calls a mystical profession. Archival footage shows the maestro in rehearsal and performance, conducting pieces by composers ranging from Brahms to Bartók and Bizet. And in an excerpt from Christopher Nupen's film The Trout, a young Mehta plays double bass with his friends Daniel Barenboim, Pinchas Zukerman, Itzhak Perlman, and Jacqueline du Pre.
