Continuing Education for Kentucky ECE Professionals

KET programs can help Kentucky’s licensed, certified, and registered early childhood education professionals earn credit toward state licensing requirements. To earn credits, participants register to view specific programs (a small fee is charged to cover administrative and paperwork costs), watch the programs, complete corresponding coursework and activities, and return the print materials to KET for verification.

Programs marked “CEU” in these pages can also help you earn CEU credits needed for CDA renewal. These credits are offered through the Bluegrass Community and Technical College. See Levels and Standards for more information.

Viewing the Programs

Programs are available in four different ways:

  1. On the Air—An hour of child care training programs is broadcast on KET each Monday at 1 pm/noon CT.
  2. Online—Some online courses are complete and fully functional with all the materials needed (including video) to complete them online. For other online courses, you will need to have access to the videos from the library to complete the coursework.
  3. DVDs and Videotapes—Several KET productions on parenting and early childhood education are available for purchase on DVD or videotape.
  4. Lending Library—Through a partnership with the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, you may obtain additional programs on DVD or videotape through your local library.

KET child care training offerings are administered by a trainer who has obtained a Level 4 Kentucky Early Childhood Trainer Credential.
