Filmmaker David K. Shipler returns to Israel after an absence of several years to explore the fundamental conflicts and tensions that have continued to divide the Israelis and the Palestinians. The intervening years saw the twilight peace of Oslo and the increasingly violent twilight war of the second intifada. But a few deeply symbolic and emotional issues remain the most difficult to resolve: the right of return, the holy city of Jerusalem, and the West Bank Jewish settlements.
