This school version of the popular prime-time program, based on the book by David Macaulay, re-creates the mystery, romance, and overwhelming splendor of ancient Egypt and the pyramids during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom (c. 2500 BC). Incorporating animated storytelling with live-action documentary sequences, the series chronicles the building of the pyramid of King Khufu, called Cheops by the Greeks, and explores the archaeological remains of Egypt, from several important individual pyramid sites to the Valley of the Kings.
