ride while teaching them to be safer, more responsible drivers.
Street Skills is a fuel-injected, high-octane, turbo-charged safe-driving
series with a serious message: “Driving can be fun. Driving can be freedom.
Driving can be fatal.”
While the message is similar to that of earlier driver education films, the journey
is very different. Street Skills uses contemporary music, fast edits,
MTV-style videography, and computer-generated animation to appeal to its teenage audience.
“Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teens in Kentucky,
as well as the nation,” said series producer Janet Whitaker.
“That’s why KET decided this was an important series to make.
We hope it will help save lives.”
