Government Girls of WWII

Nearly a million young women flocked to Washington, DC during the 1940s to help in the mobilization for World War II, finding work as spies, code breakers, strategic analysts, and clerks. They came for reasons of patriotism, excitement, and independence, and their experiences and skills opened up previously unheard-of opportunities for women in the workforce. Narrated by Cokie Roberts.
