KET Education is offering new resources to make it easier for teachers to incorporate social and emotional learning (SEL) in their 4-12 classrooms, no matter what subject they teach. And an engaging way to make SEL happen is through art. Our new SEL collection in the Kentucky Virtual Art Museum on PBS LearningMedia pairs SEL activities with artworks depicting various moods.

KET Selected For New Ready To Learn Initiative to Develop Educational Resources For Children

KET was among 12 PBS stations recently selected to participate in a new federal education project that aims to help young children build the vital skills they need to succeed in school and life. The initiative will help create new educational content and host local community engagement events that foster children’s literacy, critical thinking and collaboration skills.

A new set of educational materials shines a light on an often-overlooked part of history: the rural areas of Kentucky. KET has partnered with the Kentucky Archaeology Survey (KAS) to create educational materials to go with the new documentary Creelsboro and the Cumberland: A Living History.

KET education consultants have put together PBS LearningMedia + Digital Tools, a guide to using various digital tools, like Padlet, GarageBand, EdPuzzle and more, with PBS LearningMedia.

The Kentucky State Capitol has been closed to in-person tours because of the coronavirus pandemic since March 2020. However, students can now take a virtual trip there, thanks to new video tours from KET. But the new resources don’t stop there. KET is also publishing new materials each month for Social Studies Shorts, a new collection for grades 4-8.
